Where to shop? What’s hot what’s not?

Throughout my blog, I always say, "Shop sustainable, shop local." Now, what does that even mean? It means a brand where goods are made locally, with fabric sourced locally and sustainably, fairly paid workers, and sustainable practices through every part of the production. And I'm so excited to show you my favourites and explain why. So bear with me for my top five favourite sustainable brands in Montreal and why I love them! I hope this helps you shop more sustainably in the future!

1- Eliza Faulkner

Founded in 2012, it is a bold feminine ready-to-wear slow fashion luxury brand made locally in Montreal, with its first storefront recently opening in Montreal. Her clothes feed the local economy, being sold within multiple small independent boutiques throughout the country and the U.S. All her garments are fair trade, where all production is done safely following ethical norms, all while the workers are being fairly paid. Finally, her fabrics are sourced from local weavers and deadstock fabrics, supporting the local businesses.

To switch it up a little Bkind is a Montreal-based makeup brand founded in 2014 by Marilyn Bouchard, a recipient of a bachelor's and master's degree in microbiology who has always suffered from sensitive skin. She wanted to create a product for her when pharmacy products were no longer doing it. BKIND has had a fantastic journey through the years. They make large donations, often to different causes. They introduced many initiative like ocean-bound plastic and  carbon-neutral orders. Also, getting a leaping bunny certification and donating 2% of sales to animal welfare and integrating biodegradable shipping materials and 100% sustainable packaging, OBP packaging for cleaner cleans.
